Traveling to Ibiza with babies and children: all you need to know

Sep 11, 2021

A common mistake we usually make when we think about Ibiza is associating it with alcohol and eternal parties. Although these are common characteristics that have made the island famous, Ibiza goes much further, being a splendid paradise for traveling with babies.

Ibiza has room for everyone, it is a Mediterranean destination full of possibilities and opportunities for an unforgettable family vacation. The island gives us walks on the beach, cultural visits, beautiful sunsets, entertainment and living nature.

That is why we invite you to visit the island with babies or children, in any case they will love it. And if you need help planning your trip, we leave you this guide full of information and practical tips on what to do in Ibiza.

Where is the best place to stay in Ibiza with babies?

In any case you want to rest, it is important to know that the parties in Ibiza are concentrated on the south side of the island. So the north side is the best place to stay with babies or children.

However, among the best places to book accommodation is the Barceló Occidental Ibiza hotel. It is inspired by the architecture of a traditional village and is located just 300 meters from the beach.

Away from the atmosphere of discos and constant parties, the hotel is committed to providing a memorable family vacation, as it has several game clubs and technology for children and teenagers.

Transportation

Public transportation in Ibiza is not the best in the world, so if your accommodation is far from the beach, it is important to find a way to move around the island.

The best option is to rent a small car, this way you can tour the island, discover its hidden charms and move from cove to cove quietly. The only thing you need is a car seat, which you can rent in our product section or just click here.

The best coves to visit with babies and children

This tropical paradise offers numerous beaches and coves to share as a family with children. Among the best coves are:

  1. Cala San Vicent. It is located in the municipality of Sant Joan, so it is easily accessible. It has several hotels and restaurants around. In addition, if you not only want to relax and enjoy its white sand, it has small cultural corners where you can surely enjoy it with your family.

  1. Lenya Cove. Also located in the municipality of Sant Joan, this cove has 190 meters of beach and meets the basic requirements to enchant its visitors. The best part is how diverse it can be, as it has a rocky area, but also an area of white sand and crystal clear waters.
  2. Cala Salada. Unlike the other coves, this one is much more crowded, you can park the car next to the beach and take the baby in a baby carrier or stroller. What makes this cove special is its beautiful view after walking along a path.

Places to visit

Visit one of the biggest parks in Ibiza

The Parc de S’Illa is one of the biggest on the whole island. This park is located in the district of Can Misses, near the multiplex cinemas Ibiza.

It has a circuit of bicycles, skates, slides, castles and various attractions for the little ones to have fun.

Be sailors for a day!

If you are lucky and the weather is on your side, you can rent a small boat without needing a license. This way you can go from cove to cove across the sea.

But if you want to receive a complete guide, you can take a ride on the Tam Tam sailboat, a cruise oriented to families traveling with babies and children.

Take a walk through the Dalt Villa

Among the best ways to do sightseeing on the island is to take a stroll through the Dalt Villa and get to know the old town, which is full of history.

In case you don’t want to get lost, guided group tours are organized on Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays. What better way to tour the island than with the guide of a local?

Visit Ses Salines Park

Undoubtedly a natural jewel that on more than one occasion may go unnoticed. The natural park Ses Salines, besides being quite accessible, is a bird watching spot. Among its most striking sightings is that of flamingos.

Traveling to Ibiza with babies or small children is clearly a great option and opportunity to share. The best part, at PekeGo we are your allies for you to enjoy comfortably and without worries.
